Step 1

- Open a notepad editor. (I highly recommend Notepad++)

- Change the language to HTML.

- Create a test page.

- Save file as index.html in the client folder (if you are continuing from Step 2, this folder is located in C:/wamp/www/new_client_folder).

- Close the folder.

Step 2

- Left click on WAMP and restart all services.

- Left click on WAMP and click on the localhost tab.

- It will then open your default browser and you will see your test page.

Now you know that your httpd.config file has been set up correctly and you can begin to install WordPress on your localhost

Move onto Part 4

Step 1

- Go to your WAMP folder.

- Open  wamp folder.

- open the “www” folder.

- Make a new folder inside the “www” folder and name whatever you want. Most likely your new client or “new_client_folder”

- Close the folder

- At the bottom right of your screen in the taskbar, right click on WAMP icon

- Click refresh.

- Now, Left click on WAMP again, and in the flyout menu, look for Apache and click on it.

- To the side you’ll see the httpd.conf file, click on that.

- Look for Document Root “C:/wamp/www/”

- After www/ enter the name of your client folder so it now looks like this ”C:/wamp/www/new_client_folder”

- Look for Directory and change the root file name the same way, so it too will read “”C:/wamp/www/new_client_folder”".

- Click on file and Save.

- Close the folder.
- Left click on WAMP icon in the lower right service tray
- Click on restart all services.

Now you have established which folder will be your local host.

Move onto Part 3

Step 1

- Download WAMP.
- Click on the Icon.

- Click Run

- Click Next.

- Read the License Agreement and click accept.

- Allocate a space for WAMP to be installed and click next.

- Choose your icon preferences and click next.

- Double check the installation settings and click Install.

- Click Finish.

Now you have WAMP installed to your pc

• A feed is simply your blog. Your post becomes your blog roll or feed.
• Using RSS feeds allows you to see your blog in a Feed Reader like iGoogle.

RSS Feeds with iGoogle

Step 1 – How to make RSS Feeds

- Go to your website and click on RSS feeds.
- Copy or Ctrl+ C the URL.

Step 2

- Go back to your iGoogle and click on “Add gadgets.”

- On the right side click on “For feed owners.”

- Choose RSS -> Choose one -> Choose a Google button design

- Enter your feed URL

- Click on “Generate HTML”.

- Click on the Try it out “Google button.”

Now you know how to make RSS Feeds with iGoogle.

RSS Feeds with Feed burner

1. On your website click on RSS Feeds

2. It will now direct you to feed burner. Click on your preferred reader.

3. And at it to your reader.

How to Share Google Calendar Settings Free/ Busy Public

Step 1

• Log into Google Apps.

• Go to the settings tab.
• Change that button into “Share all information, but outsiders cannot change calendars” (or outsiders can change calendars).

• Hit save changes.
• Settings take time to change. Wait at least 5 Minutes, (but it can take as much as thirty).

Step 2

• Hit refresh on your browser or hit f5 on your keyboard.
• Go to Google Calendar settings.

• Go to Calendar -> Shared settings.

• Select it and click Save.
• Click yes on the prompted warning.

• Go back to the main site and hit refresh.
• Now you know how to share Google Calendar Settings Free / Busy Public.

The first is the best. Just create an empty folder on your website and do a 301 redirect to your Google plus page like this webinationstation.com/Gplus

The Second way involves a 3rd party app like Gplus.to. They’re essentially doing the same thing for you, but to their advantage, not yours. Here’s 10 reasons you should avoid Gplus.to for your Google plus vanity URL solution

1. There’s no privacy policy in place. Unless you consider their claim “Gplus.to does not want your personal information in any way.” To be a privacy policy.
2. Nothing prevents these 302 redirects going through botnets or malware or any 3^rd party they choose to reroute your traffic through on its way to your Google+.
3. They own your URL not you.
4. Spammers can impersonate anyone. Imagine the effect of this on teenage relationships gone bad. The offended party could easily create a URL “pay back” by creating the URL to their G+ with gplus.to/TotalJerk
5. Gplus.to gets the initial traffic, not you.
6. The Google juice, if any, will stay on Gplus.to instead of yourdomain.com
7. They are not affiliated with Google.
8. What if the service goes down? So does your Vanity URL. Now your frantically chasing links down to get your G+ connections back in order.
9. I’m really disgusted that I’m forced to go and brand myself here before someone else does, if branding is important to you.
10. It’s owned by a company inTurkey. Nothing personal against Turkey as a country or the people of Turkey. I just don’t want my business connected there in light of all the political instability.

How to link social networks together to minimize the amount of time spent there and yet still be able to engage all of my social communities.

Step 1

• Have Facebook, Twitter and a website.

• Website must have a blog with a working feed.  The feed is the orange radar button. This button points to the url of the feed.

Twitterfeed

A) Twitterfeed is the tool that links social media.

• Create an account or sign in.

• Sign in will take you to this page:   http://twitterfeed.com/feed/newuser

• What is your feed name?

• What is your blog feed or url? Copy that from your RSS feed page.

• Click test RSS feed to see if it’s active.

• The feed parsed– it’s working.

B)  Advanced settings.

I want to encourage you to use the “shorten through Bitly”; the Bitly settings. Now in order to do that you have to be signed up for Bitly. We’re going to come back to this in another video.  But, I want to make sure that you do use Bitly.

• For “content” use “title and description”

• post prefix or post suffix

• Continue to step 2

Step 2

A) Available services.

• Add in available service by clicking on the name of the service.
• Twitter– sign in and authenticate.

• Create service.

B) Add Facebook.

• Connect and authenticate.

• Go back and sign in with your personal name.
• Connected as your name– choose a page.

• Create service.

Facebook and Twitter are active.  Add LinkedIn, Heletext or Statusnet. Or choose all done.

Congratulations! It’s complete.

a) Go to the dashboard to test it.

Remember we’re saying that when we build a blog we want that blog to auto populate to our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

• Let’s log-in and write the new post “We Are Testing Twitterfeed” and then “This is a test” and let’s publish that into our blog.

• “We are testing Twitterfeed” shows that the blog posted.

b) Back to Twitterfeed –check now.

c) Check now goes to the RSS feed.  The post “We are testing Twitterfeed” shows in the feed.

d) Refresh Twitter.com to see if it fed here. Click on “1 new tweet: to see “We are testing Twitterfeed. This is a test by bitly”.

e) Refresh Facebook to see “We are testing Twitterfeed”.

So now we’ve shown you how easy it is for you to link these three social networks together.  When you post a blog Twitterfeed will take over, populating your Facebook and Twitter.  Now you’ve hit 3 social networks with one action.
